The territory of Valdinievole is a small green oasis to discover that occupies the southwest of the province of Pistoia.
LAND RICH OF OIL AND MINERAL SPRINGS
His name Nievole, derives from the name of river which here flows, but also the ancient name "vallis nebulae", or fog Valley. This whole area was mainly marshy. Today, after the remediation, mother nature is lush and the land is covered with olive groves from which is produced an excellent olive oil with IGP designation.
What attracts more tourists in Val di Nievole are common for their many peculiarities. One of many is the presence of hot springs in the area of Montecatini Terme.
Traditions and Typical products
Among the traditional events are the Palio di Pescia celebrated in honor of the patroness of the Santa Dorotea City and the Sagra del Neccio di Pescia. The neccio is a kind of cannoli in Tuscan version with chestnut and ricotta filling mixture. Among the excellence of these lands the "cioncia pesciatina", peasant dish based on beef is among the most popular of the territory.
