The spectacle of colors reflected on the Arno River creates a magical atmosphere that delights people realized for the occasion from all over. To be enlightened are the walls of the square of miracles and the leaning tower of Pisa. The evening ends with a fireworks display of fireworks that light up the sky.
It is an ancient tradition, a historical document attesting to his presence in 1337. Enlighten the city with candles that are exposed on the buildings dates back to 1688, when the URN containing the relics of the Saint in the Chapel of the Incoronata, was replaced by order of Cosimo II of doctors with a more sumptuous. That day was an opportunity to create and celebrate the Luminara. The next day, 17 June we celebrate another important tradition — the "Regata di San Ranieri, a boat race on the banks of the Arno River.
