What to do in Florence in December

All events not to be missed to finish with a flourish on 2018

Let's go in chronological order, so you can pin your calendar all events not to be missed in Florence until 31 December.

 

Sports and activities to do in winter

From 25 October 24 February 2018 2019 to enjoy the magic of winter to WINTER PARK at the garden of OBIHALL along the Lungarno Aldo Moro in Firenze Sud area.

An ice rink for fun with friends or with your family.

An opportunity to try their hand at a typical winter sports. All necessary equipment can be rented on site.

 

Religious celebrations

In the Cathedral is Eve celebrated the traditional Midnight Mass by the Cardinal of Florence and at 23 begin the vigil. Christmas morning instead the mass is at 10.30, to coincide with the Papal blessing.

 

Opening of the museums during Christmas holidays

The 24 museums will be open while the 25 December and 1 January will be closed.

The only exception is the Palazzo Strozzi and Palazzo Medici Riccardi, where you can admire a wonderful cycle of frescoes by Benozzo Gozzoli in the chapel of the Magi.

So what do you do in those days?

Florence is a wonderful city, a muzzle to open sky where is lovely, especially at this time of year, getting lost in the streets and enjoy the air of Tuscan XMAS. Don't miss a walk on Via Calzaiuoli, where glistening decorations are sure to leave you speechless.

 

New year's Eve at Piazzale Michelangelo

The new year's concert is in Piazzale Michelangelo with great artists such as Ermal Meta, Morgan and Raphael Gualazzi.

Will the magic of fireworks and the collective midnight toast.

New year is celebrated in Florence in the squares of the old town, which hosts various concerts, from classical (Piazza della Signoria) to Gospel (Piazza Santissima Annunziata).
