LAND IN THE HEART OF TUSCANY FROM THE GREAT HISTORY PRESTIGE
The origin of this land, nestled between two mountains and two tributaries of the River Arno, dates back five million years ago. The Valley has a great landscape variety and adjoins the Aretino, Val di Chiana, Val di Sieve, the Chianti mountains, the Pratomagno and the Florence area. Is an area of great prestige as a bucolic picture sprinkled with medieval towns and fortresses including: San Giovanni Valdarno, Figline Valdarno. These villages are rich in traditions and fairs, just think of the Palio di San Rocco di Figline.
This Valley, one of the oldest formed in Toscana was House of Etruscans, Romans and ligurians. During the middle ages the Valdarno was the scene of clashes in the battles between Arezzo, Florence and Siena, before being annexed to the Republic of Florence. Legend has it that mystical tale of Valdarno and places would have inspired Dante in the conception of the Divine Comedy.
A VALLEY BETWEEN THE RIVER ARNO AND THE HILLS OF CHIANTI
This area, which can be considered the heart of Tuscany, was for centuries the agricultural reserve of the commune of Florence junction and very important. The Valdarno Superiore is an interesting gastronomic pole and many are typical. The most important are: the stew to Sangiovannese, wine Barrica product in Bucine, "nana" Figline Valdarno with celery dish featuring the duck.
