Tuesday 1 May 2018 back the 25th edition of the Trofeo Marzocco in Piazza della Signoria. A historical reenactment that sees competing groups of flag-waving and is organized by the "Bandierai of the Uffizi.
The name of the event dates back to the era of the Republic of Florence, where the marzocco or marzucco was a lion symbol of people's power.
The Uffizi "Bandierai decided not to compete (as is the 45th anniversary of the founding of the Group) and they invited flag-waving groups with whom they have established friendships over the years: Gruppo storico Sbandieratori e Musici city of L'Aquila; Flag of San Gemini; "Bandierai and Musici di Castel San Barnaba; Eyjunasu city of Lucca.
The appointment is at 14.30 in Piazza della Signoria with the parade of the Florentine Republic and groups participating in the Trophy Marzocco. A day full of tradition that will end with the award of critics named Filippo Galli and Historicity award named after Leonardo Artusi.
