On Sunday, October 6th, the 23rd edition of L'Eroica will be held on the white roads of the province of Siena; There will be about 7500 participating cyclists, a third of them foreigners mainly from Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and France, but also the United States and Australia, each continent will be represented.
L'Eorica is now a Tuscan event with an international scope: every year cyclists from all over the world gather in Gaiole in Chianti to ride vintage bikes and wearing vintage clothes. They traverse the evocative landscapes of Chianti Siena, from the Crete Senese to the Val d'Orcia, celebrating important values such as sharing, rediscovering the environment, protecting beautiful feelings.
The event was born in 1997 thanks to Giancarlo Brocci, with the aim of saving the Tuscan dirt roads from being replaced with asphalt; The admission rules are very strict and only a limited number of participants can register, choosing from five different routes: 209 km, 135 km, 115 km, 75 km and 46 km. The route is open to everyone and can be completed in one or more days. The Model of L'Eroica has been successfully exported to Japan, Britain and many other locations around the world.
