An ancient tradition celebrated in the village Fiera sui Poggi, near San Godenzo in Val di Sieve, remembers the old cattle fair. The event is organized by the Association Save agriculture in collaboration with the Union of municipalities Arno Valley and Val di Sieve, the commune of San Godenzo, and the model forest Association of Florentine mountains.
This Valley, a land of farmers has always been populated by a dense network of pastors, which at the fair they exchanged the cattle, horses and sheep, but also agricultural products. The fair on Parker has always been a moment awaited by the inhabitants because it was also an opportunity to exchange opinions and chatter.
The day devoted to this tradition is a mix of many activities, including guided hikes in the area, the craft market, food and wine and games for kids. You can have lunch at the booths and also for the duration of the fair you can buy typical products of the area such as the prestigious bardiccio, a sausage made from the less valuable parts of the pig.
