It's Tuscany dedicates an article to the birth of the most important football club in Tuscany: Fiorentina who was born in Florence on 29 August 1926 by the merger of Florentine Gymnastics Gym and Club Sportivo Firenze.
In serie A Florence team lands in 1930.
Over the years the Fiorentina can boast several victories:
- two league titles;
- six Italy Cups;
- a Super Cup;
- a Cup Winners Cup;
- a UEFA Champions League;
- a UEFA Cup.
The 2001 and 2002 are black years for the team forced to recede from serie A due to the bankruptcy of the company that had failed to pay his debts. It is later taken over by the brothers of the Valley and enrolled in the serie C2, Fiorentina will resume its strength up to return permanently.
The link between Florence and his team is also perceived just watching his emblem: Lily red on a white background.
Sunday is the day dedicated to "Purple" in the homes of Florence and in the bleachers of the stadium Artemio Franchi everybody watches the game to incite, Exult, and sometimes insulting, players of their favorite team.
Fiorentina is the story of a great love for the Florentines and a city that deserves to be known.
