Fancy dress parades and Tuscan specialties in Piombino
One of the most popular carnivals of Tuscany which takes place in mid-February on the streets of the town. The 8, 9, 11 and 13 February the protagonist is only one: papier-mâché, the chariot of King Cicciolo wine as tradition soul enthusiasms and releases energy until it burned in the day of Mardi Gras! For the duration of the Carnival can taste Tuscan specialties, combining fun and good food in full Tuscan Style!
The religious Carnival in San Giovanni Valdarno
St. John Carnival has religious origins and was created with the intent to remember their loved ones in five Sundays leading up to Fat Tuesday. Over time the custom became a joyous occasion, and right in the halls of the Basilica which once housed the pilgrimage, today the country is found to taste the typical products of the area and spend a day together.
Every Sunday, the parade of floats is steaming from flag-waving locals and to all downtown streets even the little ones can enjoy themselves with the usual "masquerades" after the mass of 11.00.
The Carnival of Viareggio, among the most important in Italy
The most famous and the most anticipated. The event of the year attended by lovers of celebration and of allegory which annually find themselves from every part of Tuscany and Italy to attend the feast! By the protagonist Burlamacco, Viareggio official mask inspired by the Commedia dell'Arte was born way back in 1930; the numerous carts, unique in their kind for sympathy and greatness.
