THE BORGO ETRUSCO
Terricciola covers an area of Valdera, lying between the valleys crossed by two tributaries of the River was.
The village has Etruscan origins, and is one of the few places of Tuscany that has managed to preserve the artistic and cultural heritage left by the ancient civilization.
Terricciola is theIpogeo del Belvedere, a necropolis dating from the fourth century BC which can be visited along a corridor that leads to the open tombs and relics.
In addition to the Etruscan structure there are some beautiful churches, including the Chiesa di San Donato. Example of neoclassicism that preserves the Madonna con Bambino e Santi of the Florentine painter Bamberini.
Traditions and typical products
Terricciola is part of the National Association of wine cities. Every year the town organizes many events related to wine tasting in Tuscany. In September we celebrate the Festa dell'uva e del vino now in its 55th Edition with interesting tours.
For this occasion, the dishes will be cooked by the farmer's restaurant and will be open the Tuscan-style Winery.
