A VILLAGE NESTLED IN THE APUAN ALPS
Seravezza is a town in the valley that, since ancient times, acted as a guard of the only means of communication between the Garfagnana and the Tuscan Coast. The name Seravezza is probably derived from the Lombard "Sala Vetitia" referring to a center of trade. The Valley surrounding the village was crossed by torrents Serra and Vezza, who has been given the same name as the Municipality.
The territory is constituted from a vast mountainous area that is part of the Regional Park of the Apuan Alps. This area is characterized by towering cliffs, the famous marble quarries, forests of chestnut trees and clear streams. Within its boundaries are hills and huge tracts of the countryside.
