A NATURE RESERVE
Santa Luce occupies a hilly area of Costa degli Etruschi, lying at the foot of the Pisan Maremma between the Pisan hills.
History remembers the battle of 1406 between Pisa and Florence, when the medieval castle became one of the first fortifications of Valdera conquered by the Florentines.
The development of the village in a wide green area now makes it possible to visit the Riserva Naturale del Lago di Santa Luce. A veritable oasis inhabited by beautiful waterbirds that can be found enjoying a day out in this lovely place.
Traditions and Typical products
In Holy light are held many events related to local products. Every year in May we celebrate the Festa del Baccello, an occasion for the whole country to celebrate in the company of the Valdera specialities and enjoy the delicious stew of pods.
