The Puccini Festival, which takes place in Torre del Lago Puccini, Viareggio Versilia coastline area fraction, is a must attend event for anyone who is "in love" of the work. Every year, in July and August, the Puccini Festival comes to life in the open air theatre on the banks of the tranquil Massaciuccoli lake. The event is dedicated to the famous composer opera composer Giacomo Puccini, famous worldwide for its masterpieces of classical music, which was born in Lucca and spent many years of his life in Torre del Lago.
The village of Torre del Lago and the Lago of Massaciuccoli, not far from the famous beaches of Viareggio, have become famous thanks to the famous composer. Puccini was bewitched by this site and its enchanted and peaceful here chose to spend the most important years of his life composing music, relaxing and getting into. In Torre del Lago gave birth to some of his major works such as Tosca, Madama Butterfly and La fanciulla del West. When the artist died in 1928, the village was named in honor of maestro Torre del Lago Puccini.
The Puccini Festival, event dedicated to solely to the great master, was founded in 1930. By decade in Decade, the festival has become increasingly known and today attracts thousands of fans and tourists from all over the world. The Festival Puccini featured big stars of the opera as the Romanian soprano Angela Gheorghiu, the tenor corerano Rudy Park, the maestro Luciano Pavarotti and Franco Corelli that were directed by filmmakers rated as Ettore Scola.
The 64th Edition of the Festival Puccini will star Andrea Bocelli 's voice that, with the opening concert of the 6 July 2018, will pay tribute to Puccini in interpreting the work "Messa di Gloria". Bocelli will be accompanied by baritone Gianfranco Montresor, Puccini festival orchestra conducted by maestro Carlo Bernini.
The Festival 's from 14 July to 25 August 2018 and will be presented the following opera:
- 14-21-28 July and 17 August: Turandot
- 15 July and August 4-12: Tosca
- 20 July and August 10-18: Madama Butterfly
- 26 July: Manon Lescaut
- 27 July and 3 August: La Bohème
- 11-25 August: a triptych
