Medieval reenactment of Montevarchi

During the festivities of forgiveness that are held annually the first week of September in Montevarchi, played the Game well.

Playing well is an historic and popular tradition that takes place in Piazza Varchi. This event brings visitors the climate and history of Montevarchi.

The game was born probably in order to establish which of the 4 banners of the historic center had priority to draw from the well citizen for a year.

For the occasion every year by Saturday at 11 will be announced the arrival of count g. war that brings with it the Reliquia del Sacro Latte della Madonna as a gift to the prior of the collegiate church. Continuing a medieval encampment in a square, the blessing of the teams, at 16 the allocation contentions and at 17 in Piazza Varchi the first semifinal.

The following day the arrival of Guido Guerra, parade and reenactment will fill the streets of the old town. The celebrations with banquets begin from 20 that goes on the proclamation of the winner's Banner.
