FROM THE ETRUSCANS TO THE RENAISSANCE
Land that takes its name from Magelli, first people to occupy the area, the Mugello owes its development to the next settlement of Etruscans who took care of the first road links then completed by the Romans. Center hub for trade, given its proximity to the markets of Emilia and Lombardybecame the goal of the Florentine Republic who invested large sums to redevelop the area.
THE GREEN VALLEYS AND THE HINTERLAND RICH IN ART
Mugello is a Tuscan Valley situated to the North-East a few kilometres from Florence. Featuring striking green expanses, is crossed by the river Sieve and is bordered to the North by the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. Birthplace of famous Renaissance painters Fra Angelico and Giotto, this territory is associated inevitably Tuscan art and culture that have been carrying the family de ' Medici through the construction of extraordinary buildings full of history.

Typical products
The typical product of the area is the potato of Mugello, still cultivated by hand, and fundamental characteristic of the filling of the famous Mugello tortelli made with egg noodles and embellished with wild boar sauce seasoning. The luxuriance of the pastures that are in its valleys allow cows to produce milk of the highest quality appreciated throughout Tuscany, which produced the tasty raviggiolo.
