Marrone di Caprese Michelangelo DOP

The chestnut DOP of Valtiberina

This "marrone" is grown in the territory of Caprese Michelangelo, province of Arezzo, and has a crunchy, sweet, scent of almond and vanilla.

"Marrone" of Caprese Michelangelo DOP should be stored in a cool place and are great roasted: cooking brings out the characteristic scent and the flesh becomes very flaky. The "marrone" boiled, instead, it tastes very delicate and sweet.

In General is a versatile ingredient and can be inserted in different recipes such as pancakes, "castagnaccio" or the Montblanc. They are usually accompanied with a glass of sweet wine or of young red wine.
