A GREEN VILLAGE RICH IN TRADITIONS
Londa overlooks a scenic countryside location from the hills and the mountains of Val di Sieve that border it. Of Etruscan origins, its history is intertwined with that of Tuscan noble families in medieval controlled the territory. With doctors before and the Lorena later, the town knows a lot of development that will take him, in 1776, to become the place of residence of Pietro Leopoldo, Grand Duke of Tuscany.
Today Londa tells his story through the many historic buildings in the municipal area.
Traditions
Londa is rich in traditional appointments to discover its typical products and the old ways. La Festa di Settembre, is an event that annually awards the best local producer. A big party behind the country with songs and dances. La Festa Contadina, another occasion felt where folk songs and dances related to the countryside and peasant habits accompany the feast day of the village.
Typical
Typical product is "pesca regina", a fruit that can be enjoyed at the end of the summer because it matures later than other peaches. Sweet and with a white pulp, is ideal to enjoy au naturel.
