The agricultural company Le Masse di Lamole is specialized in the biological cultivation of vines and olive trees and is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico, more precisely in the municipality of Greve in Chianti, in the province of Florence.
Le Masse di Lamole is a small family-run business, active since 1880, now run by Mrs Annamaria and her husband Giuliano.
The couple produce a wine and an extra virgin olive oil with a "sincere" taste, thanks to the particular microclimate of Lamole that gives the products an aromatic flavor, unique in the Chianti area.
The wines of Masse di Lamole follow the production rules of the Chianti Classico: each bottle is subject to a traceability system that guarantees the consumer the security of buying a product of the highest quality. The territory of Lamole, from the first of January 2018, has been recognized by the Ministry as a historical rural landscape. This important recognition enhances and protects an agricultural territory unique in the world, characterized by a brilliant system of terracing that since ancient times allows the cultivation of vines and olive trees and gives the fruits intense aromas.
The ancient farming traditions are perfectly combined with technological innovations, creating products to be discovered, including:
- Chianti Classico wine D.O.C.G., Sangiovese in purity, aged in chestnut barrels;
- Chianti Classico wine D.O.C.G. Reserve, made with Sangiovese grapes with a small addition of Merlot. Aging takes place inside oak barrels;
- The Cortacci di Lamole, I.G.T Alta Valle della Greve, created thanks to a native vine with the "government" system, an ancient method that allows the natural fermentation of the wine;
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil, the cultivation of olive trees takes place at 600 m of Lamole, a peculiarity that makes the taste of this oil unique.
