Le Arti Orafe founded in 1985 by Giò Carbone, was the first school dedicated to the study of goldsmiths and is recognized as one of the most prestigious schools in Europe.
LAO is located in the quarter of Santo Spirito/San Frediano, in the historic centre of Florence, a place for artists and craftsmen, where you can still feel the most authentic atmosphere of the city.
For more than 30 years, the school offers courses based on learning of technical and professional skills combined with the research of the design, such as jewellery making, jewellery design, CAD, stone setting, engraving, cutting of precious stones, Gemology and wax.
Artigianelli Institute Pius X to accommodate the school, where students from all over the world can benefit from modern spaces equipped with the best equipment, follow increasingly advanced courses and consult the library with over 1300 volumes dedicated to jewellery.
LAO is an agency accredited training courses approved and financed by the ESF (European Social Fund) and an entity authorized for Erasmus projects.
The courses are designed and structured so as to ensure adequate preparation for all students with a high number of hours of classes taught by qualified teachers. More than 20 teachers among craftsmen, artists and designers collaborate with the school, and other professionals and creators are invited every year for speeches and seminars.
Flexibility in the choice of courses and subjects, offer special courses, offers the opportunity to construct custom learning paths. Intensive courses and workshops are also organized annually.
