Sieges of guelphs in Florence and Lucca used Larciano in 1302 like a defensive city due to its strategic location. Pistoia in fact, concerned about the ongoing war and the invasion of two neighboring cities, decided to strengthen the walls of this small country to stem the enemy forces.
