You are looking for a cool oasis to escape the summer heat and chaos of the beaches? Tuscany offers so many beautiful places to visit and where to find fresh gentle waters where you can take a dip on a hot day. Here are some suggestions:
In the province of Florence
the Bilancino Lake is one of the busiest and best equipped near Florence. Several dining areas with establishments that offer comfort but also water games for children. The Lake is located in Barberino di Mugello, near the oasis of the WWF.
River Egola pits. The Ule is the river that runs through Tuscany, here offers breathtaking landscapes made of Crystal Falls. In Via dei tre ponti, along the provincial road of the hills, the Egola stops sometimes forming its famous waterfalls and the wells, of which the most famous and beautiful are the "Cesspool Diago" and "Filthy Pit". Here, in their clear waters you can cool off in a place surrounded by nature and not very popular.
The Pesa River, in Chianti, near Florence. The stretch of river between Bargino and Calzaiolo is the ideal place to sunbathe and swim as well as being a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts.
In the province of Arezzo
The Parco fluviale Canto alla rana, it is located near the small village of Stia Arezzo. Here you can cool off in the two bowls filled with crystal clear water as only the Casentino. Near the place also a beach volleyball court and an adventure park.
Along the river Corsalone in Bocca di Lupo area, however, in the town of Chiusi della Verna natural pools can be found carved into the rock in which they can make refreshing baths.
In the province of Lucca
The Apuan Alps, in alta Versilia, the pure water of the river Serra, here the Malbacco stream falls, the Desiata and the Pozzo della Madonna, fresh waters of Tuscany where you can take a bath in nature.
In the province of Pisa
Between Pomarance and Volterra, within the reserve of Berignone lies the Masso delle Fanciulle which together with the Masso degli Specchi are a favorite destination of local residents. Ochre cliffs and clear blue waters greet the bathers who want to venture between the Mediterranean maquis of the reserve.
