If you are thinking of an itinerary that's romantic, and that at the same time get caught you and your half hidden, unexplored places and secret lanes glimpses what suits you is a Fugue in the casentino area!

The striking Valley of Casentino is completely immersed in the Apennines between the cities of Arezzo and Florence. Here are some places you can't miss:

  • The monastery and the Hermitage of Camaldoli of 1046, located in the heart of the casentino forests, Poppi, and contains works by Giorgio Vasari.
  • Passo della Consuma that marks the beginning of the casentino area. Is one of the most representative of this area.
  • Stia, small enchanted village was in 1996 the film set of the cyclone, with Pieraccioni. Always Be there is the Museum of wool cloth casentinese host memory and history.
  • Visit to the ruins of the Romena Castle within walking distance from the municipality of Pratovecchio.
  • Visit the Poppi Castle, situated in the historical centre of the village.
  • The sanctuary of La Verna is well worth a visit. It was founded where St. Francis received the stigmata in 1224. Is very nice to get there even going through the "nature trail and fairy wood".
  • The journey can be completed by visiting Bibbiena and historic buildings in the old town, rich in works by Andrea della Robbia. But even with the hamlets of Castel Focognano, Castel San Niccolò, Chitignano and Montemignaio.
