There is nothing better than a beautiful mountain retreat to complete a beautiful outdoor adventure. The long walks, the skiing (by the way, here are the Tuscan destinations that we recommend!), snowshoeing, put a strain on the body ... And at some point you feel the need for a nice warm place to relax and refresh yourself a bit.

A self-respecting winter holiday must include a stop in a refuge, and we have prepared a nice list all for you, so that you can organize yourself in advance. Have fun!

Alpine refuge I diacci

Near the Sambuca Pass, the refuge can be reached with an easy and well-marked walking path of about 40 minutes. In an enchanting place immersed in Mugello, the refuge offers many solutions for overnight stays, packed lunches, sandwiches and dinners on site with local specialties, at very low prices. A destination suitable for the whole family!

 

Guido Donegani Refuge

A mountain retreat in Tuscany that is absolutely worth visiting is that of Guido Donegani, located in one of the valleys of the Apuan Alps. The refuge can be reached on foot or by car and bus; it is one of the oldest in the Apuan Alps, has 50 beds and also welcomes animals.

 

Casanova Casentino Refuge

Poppi, Arezzo - Italy

A refuge immersed in the Casentino forest, with 65 beds, a kitchen and a meeting room. At the Casanova refuge many activities are organized, from cooking classes to snowshoeing on the snow, streams and bike rides, there is something for everyone. A truly fascinating adventure? The excursion in search of the wolf! You will be accompanied in the forest by experts, looking for traces of this magnificent animal.

The wolf shelter is located in the National Park of the Casentino Forests. It is a real farm, with horses, a cow, pigs raised in the wild, dogs and cats. A place to rediscover nature and all its wonders, in every season. The house is surrounded by an organic orchard and in the kitchen only traditional recipes are prepared with raw materials at km 0. A perfect mountain retreat for winter holidays!

 

Refuge la Bicocca

The Doganaccia area has about 15 km of downhill ski slopes, with a school field and ski mountaineering tracks also suitable for snowshoes. Tired after a day spent in the snow? You can find refreshment at the Bicocca refuge, located 50 m from the arrival of the cable car and near the school field. Here you can stay, enjoy a great meal or sunbathe on the large terrace. Nothing is missing!
