The Felcetone is a farm located on the Amiata, surrounded by woods and chestnut trees that overlook the Val d'Orcia.
With a total area of 12 hectares is located just 20 km from the thermal baths of Bagno Vignoni and at 15 km from Bagni di San Filippo.
The owners of the company Joan and dyed in 2005 fall in love in Tuscany and decide to move from Rome to start her own business in Seggiano.
Immediately engage in construction of facilities to house the animals and thanks to the enthusiasm and commitment of the two owners are continuing the work started in the late ' 70. Dealing with environmental, biodiversity and organic farming of various breeds both animal and vegetable species.
Retrieve these races, expression of a territory with its traditions means retracing the rural history and recreate a bond with the roots. Since 2005 the continued commitment and the numerous collaborations have led to the rescue of many breeds, reared according to the principles of organic farming.
Concern for the environment and for animals, the surrounding countryside and the love of the owners make the Felcetone one of the most authentic Tuscan farms.
The company produces salami and meat but also chestnuts, sweet flour, Olivastra Seggianese oil and since 2016 honey and jams. Il Felcetone is also always available to organize aperitifs, tastings and snacks with its products at the tasting room overlooking the valley.
In the Felcetone farm many animals are bred including: the Black Swine "Macchiaiola Maremmana", a breed recovered from three subjects in 2005, is now certified and registered in the Regional Repertory of the animal genetic resources of Tuscany; the Capra di Montecristo, coming from the Island of Montecristo and characterized by the type of light milk and particularly suitable for dietetic and child nutrition; the Old Maremma Horse, symbol of the Maremma and always a horse of the butteri; the Sopravissana sheep, the only sheep together with the "Gentile di Puglia" to have merino wool.
Biodiversity first of all. The work of continuous protection of the territory in its entirety, from plant and animal species to the social structures that surround the farm make it a unique reality in Tuscany. The Felcetone is the only genetic center for the recovery of an ancient breed of black pig saved from extinction: the "Macchiaiola Maremmana".
