The wine Elba Aleatico Passito or Elba Aleatico Passito DOCG, is the first to have gained recognition in the smaller Italian islands. The territory where is one of the most important wine-producing areas of Tuscany.
"Send it out of your mind" said about Aleatico the enologist Luigi Veronelli. What makes this wine a product so valuable? The fact that you get exclusively from grapes cultivated on the island of Elba Aleatico in purity, and vinified after drying, with a yield of grapes not exceeding 35% and a minimum sugar content of 30%. From intense ruby red colour, the Elba's Aleatico Passito is characterized by an aroma of cherries, plums and spicy notes of cinnamon and cloves. It is sweet and full-bodied on the palate and with a distinctive aftertaste of almonds, red fruits and spices.
This wine goes well with "schiaccia briaca", typical sweet dried fruit from Elba. Also great with fruit tarts and desserts made with cream and berries. Around April we organize a Festival in his honor with tasting and preview presentations, an appointment to see the largest of the seven pearls of the Arcipelago Toscano, Elba Island.
