There is a route, called Il Cammino di Dante, that connects all major routes from Dante Alighieri in his lifetime. Can be made from May to October and includes simpler, flatter stages and other uphill and more challenging.
This itinerary which crosses two regions, Tuscany and Emilia Romagna, rediscover the places where Dante lived and was exiled for political reasons and where he finished writing the Divine Comedy.
Dante's Journey routes meander along paths already trails throughout the middle ages and in some places they coincide with the ancient Etruscan-Roman roads.
The road stretches for 380 km linking the Romagna and the Casentino. The points of departure and arrival, are represented by the tomb of Dante in Ravenna, and the Museo Casa di Dante in Florence.
Dante's journey is not only hiking but is a real cultural, artistic and philosophical path that allows you to discover the beautiful landscapes that inspired the poet in his greatest work.
