THE VILLAGE THAT LIES ON THE HILLS OF VALDERA
Crespina Lorenzana is positioned in a hilly area of Valdera overlooking the picturesque surrounding countryside .
The village has an ancient history linked to the rulers of the medieval towns of Crespina and Lorenzana. In the fifteenth century both municipalities suffered the influence of Florence. In fact, the Medici family made a home and a feudal County of Crespina Lorenzana independent of the Mayor.
Crespina Lorenzana preserves many churches and a precious sixteenth-century architecture: Villa del Canto. An example of Tuscan Renaissance villa that as a result of restructuring secures inside Baroque elements and inspired to Mannerism.
Traditions and Typical products
In Crespina Lorenzana during the Festa di San Bartolomeo of 24 August, celebrates the patron saint of the municipality. On this occasion and dancing accompany the consummation of traditional Tuscan cuisine.
