Cosimo Maria Masini is a biodynamic agricultural holding, located above a hill, between the hills of San Miniato, in a land rich in wines and white truffles, along the route of the Via Francigena, immersed in 40 hectares of land planted with vineyards, olive groves e and arable crops.
The heart of the structure is Villa la Selva, an ancient residence that belonged for over five centuries to the Buonaparte family, from whose Corsican branch Napoleon was born, later bought by the Ridolfi family in the mid-nineteenth century. Here, the Marquis Cosimo, the founder of the Faculty of Agriculture, began to apply his avant-garde techniques to the cultivation of vines, building an innovative winemaking cellar, still in use.
In the Cosimo Maria Masini estate the vines grow on a soil rich in minerals and fossils, left by the sea in geological eras, and take advantage of a favorable microclimate. The cultivation of the vine combines the Tuscan tradition, handed down through generations, with the techniques of biodynamic viticulture, adopted since the 2000s, which obtains the regeneration of soil and plants through biological activators, without chemical fertilizers and synthetic products.
The paths that can be chosen are numerous, each one designed to relive the tradition, in contact with nature, in an elegant and familiar environment.
The holder Maria Paoletti Masini and the young collaborators, all driven by the biodynamic passion, accompany every single experience, making available their own culture and common values, which for 12 years have made each wine tour unique.
Here the tastings of the wines produced will be accompanied by the unmistakable flavors of the Tuscan gastronomic tradition
A journey that wants to be a way to learn about wine, its characteristics and its production process: a new way of experiencing wine tourism, to discover the long journey that each wine takes from the vineyard to the wine cellar.
