A WALK ON THE VIA ETRUSCA DEL FERRO
Capannori is located between the Apennine foothills of the Altopiano delle Pizzorne and Monte Pisano, in the plain of Lucca.
Originally the town was known as the Quarto della Rotta and its history is tied to the Republic of Lucca, when starting from the year 1000 he decided to call it by its current name. The urban area, which still retains the characteristic medieval structure has been developed recently in the first half of the 19th century. The old town is full of old churches of Romanesque origin and many villas that they belonged to families who lived in the past. Capannori has a city appealing, but allowing a visit around you can admire the Bosco del Bottaccio della Visona and take the Via Etrusca del ferro dating back to the 6th century b.c.

In Capannori you may find some specialties and traditional recipes of Lucca.
An excellent product, the oil of Lucca is ideal to accompany the traditional Tuscan dishes to give life to the bruschetta.
The traditional cuisine provides a particular recipe derived from chestnut: the ballocciori, boiled chestnuts in water flavored with bay leaves and fennel, slightly salty.
