THE GREEN CORNER OF VALLE DEL BISENZIO
Cantagallo plunges in the wooded area of Valle del Bisenzio facing the Apennines.
The hamlet did historically part of those territories were divided between Pistoia and Florence. Political agreements in medieval led Cantagallo to become one of the 36 seats of the podestà of Pistoia.
It is said that Dante Alighieri churches hospitality in a castle of the surroundings without receiving hospitality, and for this he quoted in a chant of Divina Commedia le vicende dei Conti Guidi of Cantagallo.
Cantagallo is characterized by the presence of a large green area, and is home to a hilarious parco avventura in a village nearby. Parco del Bosco Tondo in Ravindramadhure is a unique place where you can make tree climbing and many sport activities.
Traditions and typical products
In località Cascina di Spedaletto, a fraction of Cantagallo, every year at the end of July we celebrate the Festa di Sant'Anna. A traditional festival where is a market of local products, handmade crafts and products stand with wine.
