Valle del Bisenzio is considered to be one of the largest green areas of Tuscany. Characterized by the presence of nature, this area has the advantage of mixing the fertility of their land to the splendor of the countryside that compose it.
A GREEN SURROUNDED VALLEY
Valle del Bisenzio is a lovely area that mixes flourishing landscapes and forested areas very extensive, traditional costumes related to the Bisenzio's River, a tributary of the Arno's River which made the town of Prato the epicenter of processing of wool. Its proximity to the Appennino Tosco-Emiliano and a mild climate favours the cultivation of olive trees that characterize the territory covering much of the entire surface of 192.4 km ².
Green lung of the area is the Riserva Naturale di Acquerino, a place where blend architecture, flora and fauna thanks to the presence of some remains of buildings dating back to the middle ages and an immense expanse of forest.
Traditions and Typical products
The typical products of the Valle del Bisenzio are oil and chestnuts from which we get the flour for bread and traditional sweets, real protagonists of the territory that can be tasted in all their variants farms present in the countryside.
