Podere Casaccia di Moretti and Mori Lucia s.s. is a biodynamic farm located in the hills of Scandicci just a few kilometres from Florence.
Roberto Moretti bought this small property in 1999 to cultivate passion passed down from family for the land and nature. The company sits on 12 acres of land planted with olive trees and vineyards, and is exposed in a favourable position compared to light, allowing for an excellent ripening of the grapes.
The method of biodynamic agriculture with which Robert comes into contact, led him to give a new life to ancient plants, allowing it to produce wine and oil so completely natural.
Walking through the vineyards of azienda agricola Podere Casaccia guests can savor the scents and colours of a time that seemed lost, rediscovered thanks to constancy and passion for the land of Roberto and Lucy.
The older vineyards of Podere Casaccia reaches 60 years, these were recovered ancient clones of sangiovese, canaiolo and malvasia nera which were replanted in new vineyards along with the white Malvasia, Vermentino and Trebbiano.
The materials used in new installations, such as chestnut poles, are all natural, naturally the choice not to use herbicides and pesticides.
The new facilities were created to keep intact a winemaking tradition that has been handed down for centuries in the hills of Tuscany, choosing to implant even old varieties in danger of extinction as the Pugnitello and GEOS.
Also on the production of olive oil is made by crushing our freshly picked olives are strictly close attention during the day, to get a cold pressed oil of the highest quality.
The farm Podere Casaccia follows the rhythms of nature and produces biodynamic wines in purity, with 100% of a single grape varieties such as Sangiovese, Geos, Malvasia Nera, Canaiolo.
