Antica Fattoria del Grottaione is a restaurant located in the delightful village of Montenero d'Orcia, in the province of Grosseto, which passionately pursues the philosophy of "slow food". Here, in one of the most beautiful and well-known territories of Tuscany, a stone's throw from the splendid Val d'Orcia, Montalcino and Monte Amiata,it is possible to spoil the palate with typical traditional dishes and with quality wines.
The manager of the Antica Fattoria is Flavio Biserni, chef with international experience, who decided to open the restaurant in March 2002. Flavio is a caring and attentive innkeeper both with the guests who sit at his table and in the choice of raw materials that enter the kitchen.
The products used are closely linked to the territory and linkedto seasonality: asparagus is harvested in spring, during the summer the vegetable garden of the Antica Fattoria offers delicious vegetables and aromatic herbs while in autumn it is Monte Amiata that is generous with a laute production of porcini mushrooms. It is impossible not to mention meat and dairy products from local ethical farms as well.
In addition, thanks to the strictly expressed preparation of the dishes, guests with food intolerances or special needs are pampered and can enjoy the dishes proposed in absolute tranquility.
The Antica Fattoria del Grottaione is also famous for its "Aperitivo con Vista", an experience proposed in the milder seasons that allows you to taste red and white wines of excellence comfortably seated on the terrace overlooking a breathtaking view.
Biserni's staff works hard and with passion and the results obtained are always excellent: since 2004 the Antica Fattoria del Grottaione is included in slow food's Osterie d'Italia guide and in 2006 it obtained the first Snail, another recognition linked to the Slow Food universe.
To get to know this food and wine excellence, made of warm Tuscan welcome, refined cuisine and slow rhythms, you have to reach the lush Amiata area. The Antica Fattoria del Grottaione restaurant is located in Via della Piazza n°1 in Montenero d'Orcia, a hamlet of Castel di Piano (GR).
